Bridging Opportunities to Thrive

Learning Action Labs

MCWI is currently working with multiple partner organizations on developing, testing, and implementing measures for factors that influence child thriving. MCWI is partnering with YMCA to develop, implement, and improve measures of belonging and social capital. With the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, we are developing a measurement framework to learn from their Strength Card intervention. Measures included relate to hope, trust, and resilience.

Community-Led Policy Analysis

Informed by our Group Model Building process and the resultant Causal Loop Diagram, our Stewardship Team has identified potential interventions to address priority leverage points to improve child and youth thriving. One of the interventions the Stewardship Team plans to pursue is a community-led policy analysis process that will provide community-led, evidence-informed, people-centered considerations for policymakers. Our goals include:

  1. Identify priority policies (i.e., policies that strongly influence collective child thriving and needs of the community)

  2. Review quantitative data on the influence of these policies

  3. Conduct community-led qualitative evaluation of lived experience of these policies

  4. Disseminate results and strengths-based considerations for policymakers and implementers
